Utilities

Sectors

Clean drinking water, directly from the tap. From a global perspective, this is a rare luxury and just one of the many important tasks facing our utilities. We are therefore passionate about providing the technical and legal advice needed to promote security of supply. Over the past 200 years, LE34 has accumulated expertise to meet the needs and challenges of utilities and has experts on hand nationwide.

LE34 shows the way

Vibeke Oksby Næsby, Project Coordinator, Utilities, Water & Wastewater, HOFOR:

“LE34 has been HOFOR’s primary supplier of surveys for the water distribution network since 2005. All partners under our framework agreement for water supply use LE34 as their data processor, simply because LE34’s employees always provide the data we need in compliance with our standard for timely supply, quality and specific data structure.”

LE34 simplifies complexity

Utilities have many complicated tasks, varying widely in nature. Clean drinking water is something we all can see and taste. But drainage of wastewater is just as vital to the society we have created. LE34 has built up a consultancy hub, providing advice on everything from operations, maintenance and task management to expropriations and utilities law. This enables our experts to draw on each other’s experience and create intelligent solutions that make life easier for our utilities clients.

Brave new world

Digitalisation and automation should be a help rather than a hindrance. LE34’s developers understand the daily tasks of utilities companies and know how to design an app that makes life easier for them.

Using our intelligent, GIS-based solution, GEONOTE, we are able to automate complicated work processes and visualise data intuitively, simplifying reporting, prioritisation and delegation and providing user-friendly navigation on computer, tablet and mobile phone. This ensures the quality of deliveries, easy access to task management from the office or the field and real-time documentation of operations and maintenance.

Legal advice

A considerable proportion of the work of utilities companies requires legal insight. We have therefore put together a team of the country’s leading experts in utilities law to provide advice on installations, rerouting and easements and to prepare applications for filing with authorities, utilities protocols and reports on ownership.

Landowner agreements and expropriations

Expropriations and landowner agreements are vital when utilities companies need rights to inspect, maintain and install supply lines on other people’s land. This type of activity requires exceptionally professional and coordinated contact to all affected parties, to ensure smooth and efficient acquisition of land and rights. LE34’s experts handle everything from expropriation, negotiation and dialogue to preparation of area calculations and definition of compensation.

Land registration

LE34 handles the entire registration process, from A to Z. Local teams across Denmark are available for due diligence analysis of cadastral servitudes and easements for collation in the national land registry. We provide graphic plan overviews of utilities’ rights-of-way which are linked directly into the central electronic repository of the national registry.

Surveying and setting out

We handle surveys, mapping and layout of utilities’ distribution networks nationwide. With 23 offices in Denmark, we are always close at hand, ready to mobilise at short notice.
